Corydalis temulifolia ‘Chocolate Stars’ (Szechuan Larkspur)

The home of this fantastic, outstandingly tall larkspur stretches from the Chinese province of Chongqing through Gansu and Szechuan to Yunnan in Vietnam. Where it colonizes open forests, bushy slopes and woodland margins in regions up to 2,700 meters in altitude (which explains its excellent winter hardiness in our gardens). The selection ‘Chocolate Stars’ comes up with wonderful bronze leaf shoots and leaves which provides a breathtaking backdrop for the lavender purple flowers. A durable and reliable woodland perennial in part shade with humus rich soils.
