Countryside Strain
These are single-flowered, very hardy varieties of our spring roses in delicate colors that look best when planted in colorful groups. They are also suitable for naturalizing.
William Strain
Ballard’s ‘William’ produces very dark, blue-violet flowers on stems with a reddish tinge. The new foliage may also have a reddish tint. Single flowers.
Ushba Strain
Developed from Ballard’s ‘Ushba’. Pure white, well-formed flowers. Single, cup-shaped blooms with an almost translucent petal structure.
Tiny-Bell-Strain
A charming, natural-looking selection featuring single, bell-shaped flowers on fairly tall stems, in various pastel shades. Looks wonderful paired with evergreen shade grasses and early fritillaries.
Tilia Double Strain
A very prolific variety with pure green, double flowers. It adds a unique touch of lime green to any spring flower bed!
Sunwheel Strain
The double flowers range in color from the palest cream to a bright yellow. Spots (guttation) and picotée patterns may appear.
Sunshine Strain
The “yellow” of hellebore flowers is actually more of a rich cream color. The flowers of this variety are single and may feature various patterns. Their luminous effect is best when combined with other yellow or blue early-blooming plants.
Sunflower Strain
An unusual color combination of yellow and red picotée. The nectaries of the single flowers are often dark in color.
Stained Copper Double Strain
With their patinated copper hue, the double blooms of this striking variety stand out from the crowd of other Helleborus colors. Perfect for creating unique arrangements, such as with black snake plant (Ophiopogon) or silver-leaved cyclamen.
Slaty Double Strain
Slate-blue, double flowers. The plants often produce abundant blooms and tend to be rather compact in stature. They pair perfectly with very light-colored companion plants, such as silver-leaved cyclamen (Cyclamen coum).
