Lunaria annua var. albiflora `Alba Variegata`& Lunaria annua `Chedglow`- Honesty

The good old honesty (Lunaria annua) has been an important feature of Central European cottage garden aesthetics for centuries. This cruciferous plant, native to south-eastern Europe, produces popular, silvery, papery seed heads following its purple spring flowers, which are extremely decorative in both flowerbeds and vases. In garden areas that are not too densely planted, or in vegetable and cut-flower beds, this monocarpic plant reliably propagates itself through self-seeding.

For those who do not care for the pastoral charm of the original species, the genus offers several exceptional varieties: Lunaria annua var. albiflora ‘Alba Variegata’ and Lunaria annua ‘Chedglow’ are my absolute favourites!
